ADMISSION INTO THE 4YR, 5YR AND 6YR DEGREE, PG, DE AND M.ED. DEGREE PROGRAMME FOR 2005

Applications forms are now available for suitably qualified candidates for admission into the following undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the Sandwich Program of the University of Ado-Ekiti for 2005 contact session.

 AVAILABLE COURSES IN FOUR TO SIX YEAR PROGRAMMES

 A.                 B.A. Education in English, Yoruba, Religious Studies, French, Arabic and Islamic Studies

B.                 B.Ed. Degree in Social Studies, Guidance and Counseling, Adult Education and Nursery and Primary Education

C.                 B.Sc. (Education) in Biology Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Geography, Economics, Health Education, Educational Management, Business Studies, Computer Science, Physical and Health Education, Agric Science, Technical Education, Integrated Science and Accounting.

 ENTRY REQUIREMENTS 4 Year programme in any of (A) (B) or (C)

a.                   Passes at Credit/Merit Level in two subjects at the NCE WITH GCE’ O Level Credit or its equivalent in three subjects including English Language. A pass at the NCE General English is acceptable in lieu of credit /merit passes requirements where applicable

b.                  NCE Credit/Merit passes in Education or Teaching Practice is acceptable to complete the required 5 credit/merit passes where applicable

c.                   Three passes at the Advanced Level GCE/SSCE/GCE’O Level credit passes in two other subjects.

d.                  OND with merit/credit passes in relevant subjects

e.                   Passes at credit/merit level in three subjects including English Language and Mathematics at the GCE’ O Level with any of the following is acceptable for Computer Science Education

i.          Diploma in Data Processing from recognized Universities

ii.                   ND (Computer Studies)

f.                    The Nursing and Midwifery Certificates together with three O’ Level credit passes including English Language  for (B.A.) Physical and Health Education

g.                   The Nursing and Post Nursing Diploma with any two other subjects are  acceptable for B.Sc. (Ed.) Physical and Health Education

h.                   Diploma Certificate in Cooperative Studies with relevant O’ Level credit passes is acceptable for Business Courses

 

5 YEAR PROGRAMME IN ANY OF A, B, OR C EXCEPT EDUCATIONAL MANAGEMENT

a.                   Passes in two major subjects in the NCE with GCE O’level credits or its equivalent in three subjects including English is also acceptable in lieu of credit passes at the SSCE/GCE O/L

b.                  Passes at credit/merit level in two major subjects of the Associate Diploma in Education with GCE O’level credit or its equivalent in three subjects

c.                   Merit/Credit passes at the NCE level in 2 major subjects with GCE O’level credits or its equivalent in two subjects

d.                  Passes at Credit/Merit level in two subjects in the NCE with GCE O’ Three passes at the Advanced Level credit or its equivalent in three subjects irrespective of whether a subject is repeated at both ordinary and NCE levels

e.                   Pass at credit/Merit level in at least four subjects at the WAEC/GCE O’ level with City &Guilds of London Institute Certificate is acceptable for Computer Science Education.

f.                    The Nursing and Midwifery Certificates together with O’level credit passes in any two other subjects for the B.Sc. (Ed) Physical and Health Education.

g.                   The NABTEB credit/merit passes in five subjects together with Advance Craft Certificates in any two subjects for the B.Sc.(Ed.) Physical and Health Education

 6 YEAR PROGRAMME

Requirements

a.                   Passes at Credit/Merit level in five subjects including English Language in WAEC/GCE O’level

b.                  A credit pass in Mathematics is compulsory for the B.Sc.(Ed) Science courses

c.         The NABTEB Credit/Merit passes in five subjects including English Language and  Mathematics for the B.Sc. (Ed.) Technical Education.

 POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA IN EDUCATION (PGDE)

 a.            Candidates with good first degree in Arts,Science and Social Sciences of an approved University are eligible for admission

b.                  HND with Credit/Merit passes in relevant teaching subjects.

 

MASTER’S DEGREE (M.Ed. PROGRAMMES)

Available Courses

The following courses are available at  the Master’s Degree Level

Test and Measurement, Guidance and Counselling, Mathematics, Educational Management Science Education, Curriculum and Instruction Philosophy of Educatiom, Social Science and Language Education

 ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Candidates who satisfy any of the following admission requirements are eligible for admission into P postgraduate M.Ed. sandwich courses of the Faculty of Education

 i.                     A good First Degree in Education of an approved University

ii.                   A good First Degree in Arts,Science, or Social Sciences with NCE or PGDE

iii.                  In all, candidates whose class of degree is below second class lower division need not apply,while candidates applying for admission into M.Ed. degree in Test and Measurements Sciences, Curriculum should  have a minimum Credit in Mathematics at the GCE’Olevel

 METHOD OF APPLICATION

 

i.                     Candidates are to obtain application forms at the office the Director of Sandwich Programme Unit,Faculty  of Education,near University Health Centre at Adebayo Estate Premises,Ado-Ekiti

ii.                   The forms are obtainable upon payment of non-refundable fee of N3,000.00 for Undergraduates and N4,000.00 for Postgraduate degree to the Universal Trust Bank Plc,Okesa,Ado-Ekiti and obtain University receipt from the Bursary Department of the University

iii.                  Duly completed application forms accompanied with a photocopy of the receipt of payment for the forms,four self-addressed stamped envelopes and photocopies of credentials for processing must be returned to the Secretary of Sandwich Programme,University of Ado-Ekiti not later than 25th May,2006
